What's New
Watlow's PM PLUS™, the enhanced EZ-ZONE® PM, now lists EtherCAT® among its communication options. Per Watlow's PM PLUS specification sheet, EtherCAT is offered on the PM9 (1/8 DIN horizontal) package only, either on its own or combined with Bluetooth®, and is listed as EtherCAT ETG.5003.2060 conformance tested.

Machine builders and OEMs whose equipment runs on an EtherCAT network, including systems built around EtherCAT-capable PLCs and motion controllers from leading automation suppliers. If your control architecture is already EtherCAT, the PM9 lets your temperature loops join the same network.

Backwards Compatible
Watlow notes the PM PLUS is backwards compatible with legacy EZ-ZONE PM controllers. Agency approvals per Watlow include UL® listed, CSA, CE, RoHS, and FM.
Part Number Guidance
In Watlow's PM PLUS configuration code, digit ③ (package size) must be 9 (1/8 DIN horizontal), and digit ⑧ (communication options) selects EtherCAT: 8 = EtherCAT or L = EtherCAT and Bluetooth.
